Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cough drop containing sialic acid and the like having a small molecular weight, through solubilization of raw materials such as bird nest without decomposition of epidermal growth factors and fibroblast growth factors.SOLUTION: The cough drop includes the protein or polymer peptide of epidermal growth factors and/or fibroblast growth factors. These raw materials are solubilized by weak acid hydrolysis with acetic acid, citric acid, malic acid, or lactic acid, or by solid acid hydrolysis with silica alumina, zeolite, or acid clay, so as to be led to a single molecule-type or a low-molecular weight type sialic acid which can be absorbed into the throat tissue, with the useful protein remaining without being decomposed.
