To obtain a new compound useful for a red-based fluorescent coloring matter having high emission brightness, fastness and excellent solubility and a coloring matter for an organic electric field light emission element needed to have excellent sublimability and high heat resistance.
This compound is shown by formula I (R1 to R4 are each an arbitrary substituent and adjoining two groups can form a ring; R5 to R3 are each an alkyl; X is oxygen, sulfur or the like; Y is oxygen, a group NH or the like) such as a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting (A) a compound of formula III (e.g. a compound of formula IV, etc.), with (B) a compound of the formula MCN (M is H, sodium or the like) (e.g. sodium cyanide, etc.), preferably by using the component B of about 1-4 times as much as the molar amount of the component A in (C) an inert solvent such as N,N-dimethylformamide, etc., preferably at 0-50°C for about 5 minutes to 10 hours and further treating the reaction product with (D) an oxidizing agent such as bromine, etc., preferably at 0-50°C for about 5 minutes to 10 hours.
