Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the running noise of a train by cutting off the upper face of inner contact edge part of rails facing each other at the joint of a railroad line and making the upper face flat and smooth by means of tightening a connecting metal having a hanging bolt to the lower face.

CONSTITUTION: A cut-off part 2 having a letter L shape viewing from the front is formed at both inner edge parts of the joint 2 of a railroad line 1, and oval- shaped holes 7 are drilled on the horizontal face of the cut-off part 2. And bolts 5 hanging in one body from the lower face of a connecting metal 4 are inserted in the holes 7 filled with grease, and nuts 10 are tightened through elastic washers 8. Consequently, the joint of a railroad line comes to be flat and smooth and accordingly, the running noise of wheels at the time of passing the joint part is reduced.
