Title:
COUPLING DEVICE WITH TWO PARTS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3474395
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential speed detecting coupling having a simplified torque limiting means not needing a special housing inner hollow part by driving a rotational member, one of two relatively rotatable parts capable of uncoupling a rotatably fixed connection for the purpose of limiting the torque transmittable between two parts.
SOLUTION: A rotational member 22 is in the rotatably fixed state and not directly connected to a hub 16, and the inner circumferential part of the rotational member 22 is provided with an end toothing 111 that can be engaged with the corresponding end toothing of an annular member 113. The end toothings 111, 112 are provided with slant faces that can uncouple against the force of a spring element 115 (c1) in association with the increase of torque, and so formed that uncoupling can take place in both directions or that uncoupling can take place in only one relative direction of rotation. Only a limited amount of torque is transmitted between the hub 16 and the rotational member 22. With an increasing relative speed between the rotational member 22 and a housing, the shear forces between the rotational member 22 and a fluid in a shear channel are thus limited.
