To reduce the projection amount of a coupling protruding from a header and improve the attachable property of the coupling by a method wherein a second through-hole into which a second pipe is inserted is formed with a first pipe inserted into a first through-hole, and a part of screw hole is formed on the inner circumferential face of the second pipe.
A coupling 29 has such a constitution that an open end on the outside of a distribution hole 14 is formed into a tapered hole 17 whose diameter gradually increases toward the opening and a screw hole 35 with a bottom, that is parallel with the distribution hole 14, is formed inside a second pipe 34 that is parallel with the distribution hole 14. The coupling 29 is attached on a header 27 in such a way that a first pipe 33 is inserted into a through-hole 11, the second pipe 34 is inserted into a second through-hole 32 and a concave face 12 is brought in contact with the header 27. Thereby, the protrusion of the coupling 29 beyond the header 27 is small and attaching work can easily be performed even in a narrow room, resulting in an increase in freedom of circuit layout of a fluid with which heat is exchanged.
