To provide a light and small coupling member that is formed by connecting two members, has high reliability, and has a low manufacturing cost.
A connecting rod 10 as the coupling member comprises a connecting rod body 12 including a rod section 14, a small end 104 at its one end, and a pair of semi-circular arm sections 17 at the other end, and a semi-circular cap 25 including a pair of bent sections 26 connected to the pair of arm sections and constituting a large end section 20. Pin-like sections 22 formed on the tip surfaces 21 of the pair of arm sections are inserted into pin holes 29 formed in the pair of bent sections, and a caulked sections 23 are formed at the tips of the pin-like sections exposed to the pair of bent sections. Thus, the connecting rod body 12 is connected to the semi-circular cap 25 on both sides of a bearing section 31 eccentric to the axial line of a crankshaft.
