Abstract:
PURPOSE: To certainly prevent the generation of white smoke by completely separating air streams that flow inside air-only flow paths from circulating cooling water that flows down along adjacent air-water contact flow paths.
CONSTITUTION: Air-water contact flow paths 12a and air-only flow paths 12b are formed between adjacent packing plates 12 on each stage. The air-only flow paths 12b on the upper and lower stages communicate with each other across the whole height of outside air intakes through coupling members 13 made up of hollow rectangular parallelepipeds with opening on top and bottom, and are separated from the air-water contact flow paths 12a that are adjacent to the air-only flow paths 12b and continue from the lower stage to the upper stage.
