PURPOSE: To couple two metallic members with high accuracy and high coupling strength by inserting the second metallic member into the hole of the first metallic member when coupling two metallic members and coupling the two metallic members by plastic flow by two times of punch operations.
CONSTITUTION: When manufacturing a sectional transmission gear 1 by combining a transmission gear 2 and a clutch cone, the transmission gear 2, the second metallic member, having a projected part 12 at the inside is inserted into the hole of the clutch cone, the first metallic member. In this case, circular grooves for coupling 14, 15 formed beforehand on an inner face of the clutch cone 3. A punch 16 is pressed in the hole 11 of the transmission gear 2. Then the projected part 12 plastically flows into the circular grooves 14, 15 of the clutch cone 3 by plastic deformation. The second punch 17 is pressed in near the coupling face 18, and the transmission gear 2 is intruded into the circular grooges 14, 15 on inner face of the clutch cone 3, and the two are couplied firmly with high accuracy.
