This cover material used for the binding and produced by impregnating the fiber substrate with the resin and then sequentially disposing the colored layer and the surface-treating layer on the surface of the treated fiber substrate, is characterized in that the basis weight of the fiber substrate is 20 to 400 g/m2, the above resin is a mixture of an acrylate copolymer resin with ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and the amount of the adhered resin is 19 to 56 wt. % based on the basis weight of the fiber substrate.
