To eliminate the need of expressly performing film winding operation with manual labor and to simplify work by automatically winding all the photographic film inside a cartridge by allowing a film winding mechanism to rotate a winding knob in a film winding direction after a film unit is held by a holding mechanism.

When an operation lever 41 is rotated from a position A to a position B, the film unit 1 is held by the holding mechanism and a shutter button is depressed by a shutter depressing mechanism. When the lever 41 is rotated from the position B to a position C further, a cover opening mechanism rotates a hook pawl 42 to the position of a specified insertion angle. When the lever 41 is rotated to the position C, the film winding mechanism rotates the winding knob in a film winding direction. When the lever 41 is separated from the position C, a winding knob mechanism stops the winding of the film. When the lever 41 is rotated to the position B, thereafter, the pawl 42 is inserted in the notched part of the film unit 1 by the cover opening mechanism, and then a bottom cover 23 is opened.
