PURPOSE: To provide a cover opening device of a video case, which can perform cover opening work on the video case with a simple constitution.

CONSTITUTION: When the lock of a lock mechanism is released, a video case opens due to the elastic forces of an upper cover 14 and a case main body 12, and a latch 2 to be connected to a lock releasing part 14b has a side view of nearly a triangle shape which is flat at the bottom and tapered toward the tip. A rod 3a of an air cylinder 3 is connected to the latch 2, and the rear end of the air cylinder 3 is connected to a pressure-proof hose 5 leading to an air pump 7 via a solenoid valve 6. A spring is installed inside the air cylinder 3 so that the spring always forces the rod 3a to retract. When the solenoid valve 6 receives a signal, air is supplied into the cylinder 3 and the rod 3a is stretched, causing the latch 2 to push the lock release part 14b of the video case, thus the video case is opened.
