To provide a covering material for multi-cultivation easy to dispose after collection, causing no dew condensation on the inside during its use and having excellent heat retaining property.
This covering material for multi-cultivation comprises a mixed fiber composed by mixing (A) a cellulose-containing component and (B) a polylactic acid-based composite short fiber with at least two composite components each different in melting point. The impervious covering material is obtained by sticking polyvinyl alcohol and/or glucomannan on the mixed fiber in which (A) the cellulose-containing component and (B) the polylactic acid-based composite short fiber are bonded with each other with a component having the lowest melting point in (B) the polylactic acid-based composite short fiber. The mixed fiber further contains (C) a polylactic acid-based short fiber having a melting point higher than the lowest melting point in the component of (B) the polylactic acid-based composite short fiber, and may be mixed fiber in which (A) to (C) composing the mixed fiber are bonded with each other with the component having the lowest melting point in (B) the polylactic acid-based composite short fiber. Gelatinized starch may be mixed with the polyvinyl alcohol and/or the glucomannan and stick the mixture.
