PURPOSE: To install a covering tube easily and speedily on an electric wire connecting part without using a heat source or a core member, and obtain stable and sufficient moisture-proof, electrically insulating and mechanically protective effects.
CONSTITUTION: A covering tube 10 is composed of an approximately cylindrical tube member having two end parts, and has a tubular covering part 12 to surround the tail end part of a cable casing adjacent to an exposed electric wire and an overall length part of an electric wire exposed in a cable connecting part. Approximately cylindrical sealing parts 14 coming into contact at least watertightly with the outside surface of the tail end part of the cable casing are formed integrally in the two end parts of the covering part 12. The respective sealing parts 14 have respectively three annular projections 16 arranged protrusively from the inner peripheral surface. The covering tube 10 is composed of a flexible material as a whole, and at least the annular projections 16 are composed of an elastically deformable material. The sealing parts 14 are brough into close contact in an annular shape with the cable casing at least by elastic restoring force of the annular projections 16.
