Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an open cowl having both advantages, the rigidity of a closed cowl and a safety of an open cowl, by forming an inclined part in the upper end section of a cowl front panel, excepting the vehicle widthwise center section thereof. CONSTITUTION:The upper end section 6a of a cowl front panel 6 is formed as an inclined section 6b inclined upward in the forward direction of a vehicle body, excepting one part of the vehicle widthwise center section thereof. Further, this inclined section 6b is held at a predetermined space from a cowl panel 3, and therefore, this section has an open cowl structure. Further, the substantially center section of the cowl front panel 6 extends upright, and abuts against the rear surface of a rain rail 3a formed in the front end section of the cowl panel 3, both members being spot-welded together.
