Abstract:
To provide a crack preventing method of an electrowinning cathode preventing a boundary crack without requiring any troublesome pretreatment of a cathode plate.
In electrowinning of a metal, a cathode is put in an electrolytic cell in which an acidic electrolytic solution containing the metal is circulated, and the cathode put in the electrolytic cell is allowed to stand until an electric current is applied for a standing time T satisfying BT/A≥0.03, wherein A represents the volume of the electrolytic cell, and B represents a flow rate of the electrolytic solution circulated in the electrolytic cell.
