Title:
CRANK DRIVE WITH PLANETARY PIVOT PIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0419454
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To convert rectilinear reciprocating motion to rotary motion without inserting a crank rod or a link by arranging one or more piston pin, a planetary gear, an internal gear, and an eccentric disc on a piston, and fixing the internal gear to a piston block.

CONSTITUTION: During the operation of a mechanism, a piston 6 reciprocates so that a pivot pin 5 fixed to the piston 6 is moved. By connection between the crank drive and the thus constructed pivot pin, the pivot pin 5 makes a rotary motion around the shaft and simultaneously advances rectilinearly to the piston, and a planetary gear 2 is rotated in an internal gear 4 to make a rotary motion around the center line of an eccentric disc 1. Counterweights 11 are mutually moved in the opposite directions. The component of centrifugal force applied to the counterweight vertical to the piston direction is balanced so that the component in the direction of the piston is equal to the mass-force of the piston in direction and numerical value, but in the opposite direction the reciprocating mass-force is completely balanced. The mass-force caused by the rotary motion of the planetary gear 2 is balanced by the counterweight 8.
