Abstract:
To reduce a weight of a crank shaft.SOLUTION: In a crank shaft of an in-line six-cylinder internal combustion engine, gravity center positions of counterweights of a crank arm formed respectively at both ends of a No. 4 journal is determined on a basic balance position where a direction of the gravity center position of the counterweight to a central axis of each crank shaft and a direction of a central axis position of a corresponding crank pin to the central axis of the crank shaft are shifted in a circumferential direction of the crank shaft by 180°. Gravity center positions of counterweights of a crank arm formed respectively at both ends of each of No.2, No.3, No.5, No.6 journals is determined on a position moving from the basic balance position by a deflection angle of equal angle determined in advance in a circumferential direction of the crank shaft so that the gravity center positions of the counterweights of the crank arms are close to each other, and the deflection angle of the gravity center position of the counterweight of each of the crank arms formed at both ends of No.2 journal is largest.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
