To provide a crank shaft supporting structure comprising a bearing energizing means provided between the outer ring of a ball bearing and a crank case for energizing at least one peripheral position of the outer ring to be separated from the inner face of a supporting hole, having simple construction for allowing easy assembling work while reducing thrusting force on the outer ring of the ball bearing.
The crank shaft supporting structure comprises the bearing energizing means 103 which consists of a first wedge member 104 having a first inclined face 107 formed along a plane obliquely crossing the axis of a crank shaft 45, a second wedge member 105 having a second inclined face 108 formed to abut on the outer periphery of the outer ring 47b and slide-contact the first inclined face 107, and a resilient member 106 for giving thrust from the first inclined face 107 to the second inclined face 108 to energize the first wedge member 104 to a direction parallel to the axis of the crank shaft 45.
