Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crank shaft which can suppress favorably the vibration and noise generated by a torsion stress in a crank arm.
SOLUTION: A crank shaft 15 is formed so that a crank journal 21 and crank pin 23 parallel with each other are coupled by a crank arm 22. When the crank pin 23 is pushed by a connecting rod, the crank shaft 15 will be twisted in the direction of Arrow E. On the side face of the crank arm 22 about the rotating direction round the axis of the crank journal 21, a reinforcing projection protruding in the direction as going apart from the axes L1 and L2 of the crank journal 22 and crank pin is installed in such a way as extending in the direction of tying the axes L1 and L2 together.
