Abstract:
To provide a crank shaft bearing structure capable of properly lubricating a thrust bearing even when an oil of low viscosity is used in an engine.SOLUTION: A crank shaft bearing structure 100 includes a crank shaft 1, a cylinder block, a plurality of journal bearings 36-45, and thrust bearings 46-49. The plurality of journal bearings 36-45 are annularly mounted on the plurality of crank journals 11-15 in a state that the crank shaft 1 is rotatable. The thrust bearings 46-49 are mounted on a shaft support portion for pivotally supporting the crank journal 14 in the cylinder block and restricts movement to a direction along a shaft center Ax1 of the crank shaft 1. The upper journal bearing 42 annularly mounted on the crank journal 14 has a peripheral groove connected to an oil hole at its inner peripheral surface and extending in a circumferential direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
