Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of a crank shaft which can secure rigidity of the crank shaft and can reduce a weight of the crank shaft sufficiently.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a crank shaft includes a process a), a process b), and a process c). In the process a), a finished forging (10) is prepared. In the process b), an end part (134) is thinned and a protrusion part (136) is formed by pressing the end part (134) of a crank arm (13) by a pressing tool (40) from a crank journal (11) side in a state that the crank arm (13) is supported by a tool (30) from a crank pin (12) side, and flowing a material of the end part (134) to an outer side in a width direction. In the process c), the end part (134) is folded to the crank journal (11) side with a boundary (B) between a thick center part (135) and the thinned end part (134) as a starting point in the crank arm (13) by pressing the protrusion part (136) toward an inner side in the width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5B
