Title:
CRAPING SEWING METHOD FOR FABRIC AND SEWN PRODUCT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3765088
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sew a facing fabric in three dimensions by generating corrugated wrinkles at a uniform waveform pitch in a required craping portion of the fabric and fixing and setting the wrinkles by a sewing machine fine line regardless of elasticity, hardness and thickness of the fabric.
SOLUTION: A sewing process for a fabric, in which (a) a part of the fabric 13 is craped and the craped portion 15 is sewn on another member by a linearly continuous sewing machine fine line 11, includes the steps of (b) sewing a shrinkage tape 14 on the fabric along a stitch-up line 17 of the sewing machine fine line 11; (c) shrinking the tape 14, thereby generating corrugated wrinkles 16 in the fabric to partially crape the fabric 13; (d) sewing the sewing machine fine line 11 along the stitch-up line 17 of the fabric; and (e) holding down the corrugated wrinkles by the sewing machine fine line 11.
