To achieve the improvement of traveling performance, cost reduction, and the improvement of versatility of a crawler type sucking/traveling robot.
The crawler type sucking/traveling robot is provided with a frame 100, sprockets 200a-200d mounted at the front and rear sides, a drive means 300 which drives the rotation of the sprockets, and a crawler chain 400 formed by connecting a plurality of crawler plates 401 in an endless chain state and wrapped around the front and rear sprockets. The sprockets 200a-200d have portions formed at three positions equally in the circumferential direction to be engaged with the crawler plates. The crawler chain can be structured with five or six pieces of crawler plates. The crawler plates 401 making up the crawler chain 400 can be structured in such a way that sucking pads 403 are rotatable to the crawler plates 401.
