Abstract:
To obtain a crimped yarn capable of being dyed into two tones and capable of giving a bulky and elastic woven or knitted fabric having a pattern effect having clear light and deep portions, when woven or knitted and subsequently dyed.
This crimped yarn comprises a crimped yarn obtained from the intermittently thermally drawn yarn of a highly oriented undrawn polyester yarn. Each of single filaments constituting the yarn has a side-by-side type cross section comprising two kinds of polymer components having different physical properties, respectively. The single filament has deeply dyed portions and lightly dyed portions each having a length of ≥3 cm in the longitudinal direction of the filament, and has an elastic elongation of ≥100%.
