Title:
CROSS-FLOW COOLING TOWER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0743085
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain sufficient preventing effect of white smoke with a simple structure by mixing air, passed through a filler unit, by a mixing plate.

CONSTITUTION: Air is sucked into a cooling tower 1 by a fan 12, arranged at an air discharging port 15 provided at the upper part of the cooling tower 1 through an outside air intake port 2 provided on the side surface of the cooling tower 1. Heat exchange between the air and water to be cooled, which is sprayed through the spray port of an upper water tank 9, is effected by filler units 3-6. Thereafter, the air is discharged from the internal space 14 of the cooling tower through an air discharging port 15 whereby the water to be cooled is cooled. In this case, the air, passed through the filler units 3, 4, 5, 6 having different natures, is mixed uniformly by a mixing plate 16, arranged at substantially central part of the internal space 14 of the cooling tower 1, then, is discharged out of the exhaust port 15 of the cooling tower 1. Accordingly, white smoke, generated by ununiform moisture in the air discharged out of the air discharging port of the cooling tower, can be prevented effectively.
