PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross head bearing for a large-sized 2-cycle engine, having a large and effective bearing surface in a portion receiving load most, of the bearing.SOLUTION: A cross head journal (4) includes an axial hole (5) in which lubrication oil supplied under a pressure passes, and a hole (15) extending in the lateral direction with respect to the axial hole from the axial hole to a surface of the journal facing a lower bearing shell (12). The hole extending in the lateral direction is disposed so to be connected to at least one of aligned holes provided in the circumference of the lower bearing shell (12) or connected to a circumferential-direction slit (25) provided in the lower bearing shell or the journal, at least at one point of an oscillation process of a connecting rod (7). A bearing surface of the lower bearing shell or a surface of the journal facing the lower bearing shell includes at least one lubrication groove (22) extending in the axial direction, and the slit in the circumferential direction intersects with the lubrication groove.
