PURPOSE: To provide a cross member for an automobile subframe allowing manufacture of a stable unit in association with side parts, and securing an improved toe-in state and a prescribed camber coefficient.
CONSTITUTION: This cross member 1 for an automobile subframe is disposed between at least two adjoining side parts extending lengthwise of an automobile as a receptacle for a wheel suspension. The cross member 1 includes two cross member portions of identical configuration, located in a transverse plane. An upper leg part 4 of each the cross member 1 extending crosswise has a tongue piece 5 on its end side. The tongue pieces 5 overlap each other in a vertical plane. Each the tongue piece 5 has a thickened receptacle for supporting a nut and another receptacle for supporting bolt heads of plural mounting bolts located in a horizontal plane.
