PURPOSE: To obtain good electrical insulating properties by forming one side of the end of the coil of the stator of an induction motor at a high stage and the other side at a low stage, and disposing the low stage on the side of the induction motor in contact with refrigerating machine oil, which induction motor drives a compression element.
CONSTITUTION: The coil of the stator 2 of an induction motor 4 comprises a low-stage coil end 42a to which a small amount of molding of a coil end is allocated and a high-stage coil end 42b to which a large amount of molding of the coil end is allocated. The low-stage coil end 42a is disposed on the side of refrigerating machine oil 25 containing a refrigerant. The length by which the coil of the induction motor 4 is immersed in the refrigerant-contained refrigerating machine oil 25 is thereby reduced. The amount of electricity that leaks from the coil of a charged portion to a sealed container is thus reduced.
