PURPOSE: To provide a sensor used in measuring so that the alarm time of a crossing signal can be easily and quickly measured and to provide a crossing alarm time measuring method using the sensor.
CONSTITUTION: A sensor 11 is used in the case of measuring an alarm time from the respective releasing time of a control relay SR or alarm control relay R in a crossing alarm system, in which when a train comes to an alarm start point, the up or down control relay SR of a crossing signal is released also to release the alarm control relay R so as to start an alarm, and when the train comes to an alarm end point, the control relay SR is actuated also to actuate the alarm control relay R so as to stop the alarm. The sensor 11 is mounted on a bottom part from a relay cover of the control relay SR or alarm relay R, to have a detection part 20 for detecting an operation/release condition of the relay from a magnetic field leaking from a coil when carried a current in the coil of the control relay SR or alarm control relay R.
