To provide a crossing gate operating system and an information display method for the system capable of enhancing the visibility of a crossing for automobile drivers, etc., arousing the notice at all times, and effectively preventing the action of traversing the crossing just before a train passes.
The crossing gate operating system is equipped with a first displaying member 13 in which a plurality of light emitting diodes are arranged in matrix form and which is installed on that side confronting the driver etc. of a gate bar 18, a train approach sensing device 12 to sense an approaching train 81 running on a track toward the crossing, and a controller 11 furnished with a CPU, and when receiving a train approach sensing signal from the sensing device 12, the CPU controls the light emitting diodes so as to display as the crossing-associated information the light emission changing information as the image information in which the light emitting condition of the diodes varies.
