Title:
CROSSLINKED COMPOSITION OF CHLORINATED POLYOLEFIN ELASTOMER WITH IMPROVED OIL RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5740516
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: The titled composition that is made by grafting acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile to a specific chlorinated polyolefin and effecting crosslinking, thus showing high weathering resistance, ozone resistance and heat resistance.

CONSTITUTION: The graft polymerization of acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile onto a chlorinated polyolefin, preferably of 20W50wt% chlorine content and of 10,000W 300,000 molecular weight as polyolefin, is conduced, preferably radically in a suspension. The content of the acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile in the graft polymer is preferably 5W40wt%. The resultant graft polymer is combined with a kown crosslinking agent such as dicumyl peroxide, when necessary, additives such as plasticizer, then crosslinked and molded.
