Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross-point detection circuit for easily detecting a cross-point of a receiving optical signal, and to provide an optical receiving apparatus for optimum control of an electrical waveform equalizing circuit and an optical variable dispersion compensating circuit of the optical receiving apparatus using a detected cross-point value.SOLUTION: Bias voltage is superimposed to a signal in which a DC element is cut off through AC coupling of an electrical signal photoelectrically converted from a receiving optical signal. The signal to which the bias voltage is superimposed is amplified with an automatic gain control amplifying circuit to detect an average voltage of an output signal of the circuit. Moreover, a tap coefficient of an electrical waveform equalizing circuit is optimum-controlled using the detected average voltage value.
