PURPOSE: To improve durability of a rubber sleeve of a crown roll, and prevent buckling of a center part when a thin plate is inserted.

CONSTITUTION: A crown roll is provided with a shaft part 2 which is formed eccentric by δ to a straight roll trunk part 1 on each side of the roll trunk part, the shaft part 2 is provided with a freely angle-adjustable shaft bearing support member 3 which is set eccentric by quantity of δ through an angle adjusting device 4, a shaft bearing 8 dispsoed on the outer side among plural self-aligning shaft bearings disposed symmetrically from a center part of the roll shaft trunk part is engaged with the shaft bearing support member 3, and a sleeve 9 is engaged with an outer ring of the shaft bearing 8. Each of three or more separated metal sleeves 10, 11, 12 to be engaged with the outer ring of the shaft bearing 8 is provided with two or plural irregularity parts 13, 14, and the irregularity parts are engaged with each other to link the metal sleeves 10, 11, 12 to each other to bend freely. Since a torsional torque can be absorbed by the metal sleeves, durability of the rubber sleeve can be improved largely, and centering correction force at the time of inserting a thin plate is scattered, thereby buckling of a plate center part can be restricted.
