PURPOSE: To provide a crucible analysis superior in an insulating property wherein electric discharge does not occurs between the specimen and an inner wall of the graphite crucible when a specimen is heated to be melted and whereby minute amount of hydrogen contained in the sample to be measured is determined with high accuracy by being subjected to the quantitative analysis.
CONSTITUTION: An analyzing crucible 4 is made of a boron nitride sintered body so that it is electrically insulated and electric discharge does not occurs when a specimen is heated to be melted, thereby wear of the graphite crucible is prevented. It is made of the high pure material so that it is easily applied with the degasification by being baked. An inner wall 41 of the crucible 4 is formed in a tapered face such that the cross section thereof is gradually enlarged from the bottom to the upper section. The specimen is placed along the tapered face of the crucible, then the specimen is heated from the bottom also from the inner wall 41 so that it is quickly melted, thereby it is possible to reduce the analyzing time and to prevent the solidified metal after the analysis from adhering to the inner wall 41.
