Title:
CRYOGENIC CONTAINER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3400256
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting structure for a cryogenic pipe arrangement which reduces vibration and heat generation by friction.
SOLUTION: A cryogenic container is provided with an outer bath 1, a box- type heat shield element 6 placed in the outer bath 1, inner bathes 4 containing superconducting coils 2 in the heat shield element 6 and low-temperature piping units 5a and 5b whose ends are connected to the inner bathes 4. The heat shield element 6 is supported in the outer bath 1 with shield element supporting elements 11 and the low-temperature piping units 5a and 5b are supported and secured to the heat shield element 6 with piping supporting elements 12. Since the low-temperature piping units 5a and 5b are secured to the heat shield element 6 which is cooled to an intermediate temperature between the outer bath 1 and the inner bathes 4, the heat from the outside is prevented from being directly transferred to the low-temperature piping units 5a and 5b and the vibration of the inner bathes 4 containing the superconducting coils 2 is also prevented from being transmitted to the low-temperature piping units 5a and 5b. Generation of heat by sliding friction caused by the vibration is accordingly prevented and temperature rising of the low-temperature piping units 5a and 5b is reduced.
