Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryostat capable of suppressing heat intrusion via a current lead effectively, while normally connecting a superconducting magnet and an external power supply via the current lead.SOLUTION: The cryostat includes a liquid helium tank 12, a superfluid helium tank 14, superfluid helium coolers 20, 28 for generating low temperature helium by performing diaphragm expansion of liquid helium 2, and cooling superfluid helium 4 by exchanging heat between the low temperature helium and the superfluid helium 4, a current lead 30 including a conductor 32 having a first conductive part 35 composed of a metal material and a second conductive part 36 composed of an oxide superconductive material on the lower temperature side, an electrical connection 40 including a connection terminal 44 connected with the low temperature side end of the conductor 32, and a connection terminal cooling section 50 for cooling the low temperature side end of the connection terminal 44 and conductor 32 by heat exchange between the connection terminal 44 and diaphragm expanded low temperature helium.
