Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide mechanical and biological properties for absorptive surgical suture by using lactide and glycolide having a volume effective for improving P-dioxanon so as to obtain crystalline copolyester of noncrystalline prepolymer. CONSTITUTION: Crystalline copolyester of lactide and glycrolide noncrystalline prepolymer has a volume effective for improving the tendency of holding an in vivo break-proof strength of P-dioxanon single copolymer and the tendency of in vivo absorption. Further, absorptive surgical suture is produced by melt- spinning the crystalline copolyester. Accordingly, a fiber having mechanical and biological properties in combination is produced, for surgical suture as absorptive monofilament. Thereby it is possible to has mechanical and biological properties.
