Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain crystalline copolymers of p-dioxanone with glycolide having good flexibility and quick absorbing capacity.
SOLUTION: Desired crystalline copolymers of p-dioxanone with glycolide have about 3 - about 30 wt.% polymerized glycolide and the balance of a polymerized p-dioxanone and, simultaneously, an inherent viscosity of 1.6-2.6 dl/g; a melting temperature, measured by a heated stage microscope, of 90-125°C; a degree of crystallinity of 20-50%; a single molecular weight distribution curve; and a single phase in melt state.
