Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject polymer good in flexural elastic modulus, heat distortion temperature, heat and impact resistances, etc., by bringing a solid containing Mg, Ti, a halogen and an electron donative compound into contact with an organoaluminum compound, an organosilicon compound and an olefin, and polymerizing propylene using the resultant catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: This polymer is obtained by polymerizing an α-olefin using a catalyst prepared by bringing (A) a solid component consisting, essentially of magnesium, titanium, a halogen and an electron donative compound into contact with (D) an olefin in the presence of (B) an organoaluminum compound and (C) an organosilicon compound expressed by formula I [R1 is a cyclic substituent group containing a (thio)ether bond in the ring, a cyclic substituent group containing a ketone bond in the ring, a heterocyclic substituent group containing nitrogen atom, a heterocyclic substituent group containing silicon atom, a substituent group, etc., having a lactone skeletal structure; R2 is a 1-10C hydrocarbon, R4O (R4 is a 3-10C hydrocarbon), etc.; R3 is methyl or ethyl; (x) is 1 or 2; (y) is 0 or 1; (z) is 2 or 3; [(x)+(y)+(z)] is 4]. The resultant polymer has the heat of fusion ΔHm, determined by a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and satisfying formula II (ω0 is the frequency; G0 is the elastic modulus).
