Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new solvate useful as a coloring compound used as a recording material such as a pressure-sensitive recording or a heat-sensitive recording material.
CONSTITUTION: A crystalline solvate of a fluoran compound composed of the fluoran compound expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are cyclohexyl, n-butyl or isobutyl, except groups of both the same R1 and R2) and benzene or xylene. Furthermore, the aforementioned solvate is obtained by dissolving the compound expressed by the formula in an organic solvent containing ≥50wt.% benzene or xylene and depositing the above-mentioned compound as crystals from the resultant solution.
