Title:
CU ALLOY SYNCHRONIZER RING FOR TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6412134
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the synchronizing ability and the disengaging ability by forming a soft metal coating having an average thickness of 1W100μm on at least a sliding contact surface of a synchronizer ring contacting a taper cone as a mating member.

CONSTITUTION: A soft metal coating formed of Sn, Zn, Pb, Al, Ni or alloy thereof and having an average thickness of 1W100μm is formed on at least a sliding contact surface 1 of a synchronizer ring formed of Cu alloy contacting a taper cone as a mating member. The synchronizer ring is formed with chamfers 2 and key ways 3. Accordingly, a reduction in coefficient of dynamic friction on the sliding contact surface at least after fitting may be suppressed to thereby improve the synchronizing ability with respect to the mating member. Simultaneously, a coefficient of static friction is reduced to thereby improve the disengaging ability.
