To prevent and suppress contamination caused by door opening and closing and bring simple observation operation to be easy by improving the opening and closing structure of a culture apparatus.
In the culture apparatus 1, the door structure for opening and closing a culture space 2 formed in a chamber 3 is brought to be a double door structure comprising a first door 4 and a second door 10. The second door 10 is constituted of an upper door 4a and a lower door 4b turning around the upper side and the lower side of the enclosure 3 as rotative axes, respectively. When the upper door 4a is open, it serves as a barrier wall for preventing dust from the upper side and intrusion of bacteria adhered to the dust by holding a horizontal position of the upper door 4a. Therefore, contamination is prevented and the highly reliable culture apparatus is provided. When the second door 10 is open, it serves as an observation device by attaching a temporary space 12 for putting culture vessels to the lower door 10b and a lighting device 14 to the upper door 10a of the second door 10.
