PURPOSE: To obtain a mushroom-cultivation medium capable of cultivating high quality mushroom in high yield by compounding a component selected from dried fish, etc., to a basal medium.

CONSTITUTION: A basal medium for the cultivation of mushrooms such as Pleurotus ostreatus, Pholiota nameko and polypore is mixed with about 1.0-10 wt.% (based on the whole culture medium components) of at least one kind of component selected from dried fish such as dried bonito or dried mackerel, its extract, its extraction residues left after the extraction and fish meal. Mushrooms having high and uniform quality can be produced in high yield by the addition of the dried fish, etc., and the culture period can be shortened compared with convensional culture medium.
