Abstract:

To provide a culture medium for plant culture, comprising an aqueous gel-forming raw material not requiring heating, capable of being readily prepared at a low cost and used together with an oxygen generator and suitable for growth.

This culture medium comprises aqueous gel-forming raw materials which are one or more kinds of compound selected from among sodium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose and pectin being unnecessary to be heated, and further containing a humectant, a fertilizer component, and an antiseptic. Furthermore, a crosslinking agent containing a crosslinking ion such as calcium sulfate for forming a gel is preferably added thereto when sodium alginate or pectin is used.
