Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain undifferentiated cell of stream laver (Prasiola japonica) served as a food or obtain an indefinite leaf formed from said cell, by culturing a cell of a plant belonging to Prasiola genus in a medium.
CONSTITUTION: Cells are collected from the leaf of steam laver, planted without sterilization on a modified Bristol medium, MC medium, etc., added with about 1% of agar and cultured at ≤30°C, preferably 15W20°C under a long-day condition at ≥1,000 Lux to obtain undifferentiated cultured cell or cultured cell of differentiated state or partially differentiated state such as indefinite leaf.
