PURPOSE: To provide a cured coating film former capable of forming a coating film excellent in weatherability and adhesion to the surface of a base material such as a metallic material or a non-metallic inorg. material for use in a construction maternal, an automobile or the like or to the surface of an inorg. coating film in a comparatively short time without use of any expensive component such as a silicone.
CONSTITUTION: A cured coating film former comprises a silicon-contg. polymer (P) having at least R3O group (R3 is methyl, ethyl, or the like) and at least l Si atom per molecule with the R3O group bonded to the Si atom to form an Si-O-C bond, wherein part or all of the Si atoms are each either directly or indirectly bonded to the main chain of the polymer via an Si-O-C bond; an org. solvent (W); and a silanol group condensation catalyst (I). The polymer (P) is soluble in the solvent (W) and has a no.-average mol.wt. of 1,000 to 1,000,000.
