Title:
CURING OF EPOXY RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0345622
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a cured product improved in the balance between heat resistance and impact resistance by curing an epoxy resin obtained by mixing less than an equivalent of a specified epoxy compound with an acid anhydride. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy resin prepared by adding 0.70-0.85 equivalent of an acid anhydride (e.g. methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride) to 1 equivalent of an epoxy compound having an epoxy equivalent of 135-250 and at least two epoxys in the molecule in the presence of a mixed catalyst comprising an oxazoline compound [e.g. 2,2'-m-phenylenebis(2-oxazoline)] and an aluminum chelate [e.g. aluminum tris(ethylacetoacetate)] is cured. According to the above, a cured product which is scarcely decreased in its physical heat resistance even when the equivalent ratio of the acid anhydride to the epoxy is small and has impact resistance and mechanical strengths better than those of a conventional acid anhydride-cured epoxy resin can be formed.
