Abstract:
To improve reliability of information about the presence/absence of a currency and a conveyance position.SOLUTION: A currency processing device 1A includes: a passage unit 14 that conveys a currency from an upstream side to a downstream side; a sensor unit 100A having a sensing region extending from the downstream side to the upstream side of the passage unit 14, and being capable of sensing the currency being conveyed on the passage unit 14; and a control unit that determines presence/absence of the currency in the passage unit 14 based on a sensing result of the sensor unit 100A, and in a case in which it is determined that the currency is present in the passage unit 14, detects the position of the currency in the passage unit 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
