PURPOSE: To provide a current collecting shoe in which the replacing work of a slider can be conducted in a short time, its mechanical strength is enhanced and the utility efficiency of the slider can be increased and a method for manufacturing the same.
CONSTITUTION: The slider 5 slidable contact with an overhead contact wire is integrally formed with a shoe 6, the base materials of the slider 5 and the shoe 6 are formed of common conductive members, and fibrous reinforcing materials are contained. As the base materials of the slider 5 and the shoe 6, aluminum alloy is used, and as the reinforcing material, alumina fiber can be used. The fibrous reinforcing material may be contained only in the slidable contact part of the contact wire of the slider 5 side. In order to manufacture a current collecting shoe, the reinforcing material is previously laid in a mold, the base material is cast in the mold to impregnate the reinforcing material with the base material, then cooled, and removed from the mold, and the slide contact surface of the slider 5 is surface finished.
