Title:
CURRENT CONTROL BATTERY CHARGING METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3183808
Kind Code:
B
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the instability of a battery-charging control loop by supplying a specified charging current in a first step, a sequence of charging current pulses in a second step, and specified charging-current pulses in a third step, to a battery.
SOLUTION: In an initial charging step, a specified constant current is supplied to a battery. When the battery voltage reaches a specified value, the charging state enters a constant voltage-charging step, current pulses whose amplitudes are stepwise attenuated are supplied to the battery. The envelope of the attenuated current pulses becomes exponential. Thereby a constant voltage charging is performed bay voltage control system. When the charging current pulse becomes equal to the specified minimum amplitude value, the charging state enters a float charging step, and charging current pulses having a specified minimum amplitude are supplied to the battery. Thereby instability in a battery charging control loop can be avoided.
